Treasurer Folwell Hosts First "Ask Me Anything" Session

Raleigh, N.C.
Feb 27, 2017

North Carolina State Treasurer Dale R. Folwell, CPA, held his first “Ask Me Anything” Session for members of the media on Monday, February 27th. As part of his initiative to increase transparency within the Department of State Treasurer, Treasurer Folwell has announced monthly conference calls as an open forum for discussion that is available to reporters across the state.

“There are North Carolinians that live closer to five other state capitals than they do their own,” said Treasurer Folwell in his opening remarks. “We don’t want the office of State Treasurer to be Raleigh-centric. I am the keeper of the public purse and inside that purse is money that belongs to people in the east and the west and the 4 corners of our state.”

The first installment of the ‘Ask Me Anything’ sessions focused primarily on the 2017 Debt Affordability study, pension investments, and the State Health Plan.
