NC ABLE Program Board of Trustees
The NC Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act allows people with disabilities to save money in a special 529A account for qualified disability expenses, similar to the tax-deferred accounts used by families to save for their children’s college educations.
Board Meetings
These meetings are held virtually. Registration and login information will be provided prior to each meeting and posted for the public online below.
Accommodations for people with disabilities will be made upon request. Please contact Patti Hall at 919-814-4198 or Patti.Hall@nctreasurer.com at least ten days prior to each meeting. Requests for accommodations or modifications made less than ten days prior to the meeting will be honored to the maximum extent feasible, but it may not be possible to fulfill them. Extensive accessible parking is available at the main entrance. Our main entrance is fully accessible. Meetings are scheduled to begin at 9:30am unless otherwise indicated below.
The makeup of the NC ABLE Program Board of Trustees is mandated by the NC ABLE Act, N.C. G.S. 147- 86.52. The Board is composed of six members. The State Treasurer serves as chair, and two members serve ex-officio: the NC Commissioner of Banks, or designee, and the Secretary of the NC Department of Health and Human Services, or designee. One member is appointed by the Governor. One member is appointed by the General Assembly, upon recommendation of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. One member is appointed by the General Assembly, upon recommendation of the President Pro Tempore of the Senate.
