11/30/18 Notice: Technical malfunction on Prudential employer website
Prudential Retirement, the third-party administrator for the NC 401(k) Plan, NC 457 Plan and NC 403(b) Program, maintains an employer website that participating state and local governmental employers can access. The website allows an employer's authorized representative to access certain information about current and former employees who participate in one or more of the plans. On November 19 and 20, 2018, Prudential's employer website experienced a technical malfunction which allowed some employers unauthorized access to participant data from other organizations. Prudential is currently in the process of assessing the full scope of the malfunction, but at this time, we have no reason to believe that the malfunction or unauthorized access was done maliciously or that unauthorized access extended beyond the otherwise authorized employer representatives. We take our participants' privacy seriously and wanted to make participants aware of the possibility that participants' confidential information may have been shared with an employer other than their own. Should you have any questions or concerns please call Prudential's call center at 866-627-5267.
