Form 2C: Designating Beneficiary(ies) for Retirement System Contributions and the Death Benefit

If you have less than 10 years of service, this information can now be submitted on our secure website called ORBIT.

To change your beneficiary(ies), complete the following steps:

1.    Login to ORBIT at https://orbit.myncretirement.com/orbit/Common/Pages/BPASLogin.aspx

If you have not used ORBIT before, you will need to register by clicking on the Register button on the same page.  To complete the registration, you need to supply your Social Security number, birth date, and zip code.

2.    Once logged in, click on the tab “View Account Summary” on the left side of the “Welcome” screen.

3.    Click on the link “Change Beneficiary(ies)?” near the bottom of the page.

4.    Use the add, edit, and delete features to change your beneficiary(ies).

If you have more than 10 years of service, you will need to complete a paper copy of Form 2C and submit it to the Retirement System by mail or fax.
